This Galileo Thermometer is based upon an experiment four hundred years ago when Galileo discovered that specifically weighted floating bubbles would predictably rise or sink in a liquid as the temperature of that liquid changed. These decorative glass reproductions of Galileo's discovery have glass floats precisely weighted in .006 gram increments suspended in a clear, environmentally safe, nontoxic liquid. Just read the tag on the lowest floating bubble to determine the room temperature from 62-96 degrees Fahrenheit.
