This is not a trail cam; its a toy you should keep that in mind if you're considering it. Overall I like it although the roof isnt the easiest to snap on and the quality is pretty mediocre. We have a lot of birds in our back yard so we have fun looking at the pictures.

I was ready to send this product back but since the feeder was already up, I decided to work with it and see what I could do. Since there are no instructions for the camera other than inserting the micro-SD card, it took a bit to figure out if it's on or not *TIP-charge the camera, then turn it on WITHOUT the SD card. The light will blink continuously without the card. That way you know its on* Once the card is inserted, it stops blinking, but stays on.Also, the feeder is very small, so there's no place for the birds to land or sit while eating. When I first put it up, I got no pictures of birds, but would get pics of my hand reaching for the camera (so I knew it was working) - I built a small "shelf" under the feeder so now the birds have a spot to sit on and as you can see from the pics, the feeder is working great!

Sorry to see all of the negative reviews here. You get what you pay for. Very entertaining. We love seeing the close-ups of our feeder visitors. Camera is not high resolution but is adequate. Color quality and picture clarity is dependent upon time of day and ambient lighting. No calendar/clock so no date/time stamp. Squirrels can be problematic as with any bird feeder. Lots of other choices out there if you are looking for high-res, professional quality bird photos. As to the sensitivity of the motion detector, better to delete photos you don't want than to risk missing good shots.

I received this bird feeder for my birthday, disappointment. Looks nice, but is over engineered by people who aren't familiar with bird feeders. With feeders, simple is better. Too many small parts to break. Cheap quality. The hanger on the back requires tiny screws and hangs only by the weight of the feeder. If any thing were to lift up on it ,say a squirrel you'll be picking the broken pieces. A hinge on the lid would take about 4 seconds to fill, but instead you have to take down the feeder to fill and perfectly align the lid (there is a video of a Bresser employee displaying the feeder and he doesn't even try to put the lid back on, lol) before re-hanging it. As for the camera, it did manage to get a few pictures inside on the day I received it. The directions are lacking as you can't tell if it is on/off or even taking pictures. You just have to set it up and hope its working, then check it hours later to find empty storage. It did take a couple blurry pictures of a squirrel but not 1/2 as good as the cheapest cell phone camera quality. It was setup for about 5 hours but seemed to only take pictures for the first 20-30 minutes. No pictures after that. For 3 days I have tried everything to get it to take another picture, to no avail. All it does is create empty files on the 32 GB card I purchased in hopes for better pictures (or any picture at all). This is a definite DO NOT buy and as this is an example of Bresser quality I would recommend avoiding them altogether.

I got it for Christmas and have had a really good time looking at all the pics I get every day. There was a learning curve for the birds before they started taking better pics. I get between 100 and 300 pics daily. one "problem" is that the dove perch on it and use up a lot of pics.
