Give as gift and you'll look smart!, June 11, 2020Posted By: Balu
I got binary for about half an hour in the 11th grade. Then caught a glimpse a few. months ago - pandemic pondering. Your binary clock was a gift to my nephew, Dr.now in Chemistry and Physics. He loved it! All this modern stuff. My niece just had a baby in a hospital so modern......... the baby was born cordless!

Fantastic, cool, different, 9 year old loves this!, February 16, 2019Posted By: Joshdent
I bought this as a holiday present for my 9 year old. It's a really cool little clock and although it took him some practice to learn how to tell time on it, he loved learning the "secret language" of the clock and now feels like it is something super special. It does glow at night, I don't find it especially sleep-disturbingly bright like some of the other reviews stated. Its a neat conversation piece. I wish it had an alarm function though. Otherwise totally satisfied and worth the money and an interesting gift idea for a techie/science adult or even older kid.

Excellent conversation device for people who do know computer machine language. To repeat an earlier reviewer: "There are 10 types of people in this world, those that understand binary and those that don't".

I was given one of these at least 5 years ago and it's been sitting next to my monitor ever since. It is mesmerizing. Especially at night, with the lights off. BTW, there is a button on the back that dims the LEDs, in answer to a criticism above. Great teaching toy too.

There is an informatics joke that says "There are 10 kinds of people: the ones who know binary and the ones who don't" jajaja I'm neither a geek nor a nerd, but I love computers and this is the kind of clock I have always wanted for myself. It says the hour in a binary form. It even has 100 different modes to see the hour :-D* horizontal binary* vertical binary* horizontal binary coded decimal* vertical binary coded decimal. As you may see, there are 100 different modes. JAJAJA. Just kidding. It's funny to discover what people thinks about what it is. Some say it's a sensor; others say it's a part of the computer. To the guy that says that lights are very bright: i bought mine about two years ago and there is a discrete buttom at the bottom of the back side of the clock. If you press it, you can get 11 different bright modes. JAJAJA Again kidding. For the guys who don't know binary, 100 stands for 4 and 11 for 3.Sorry for the bad jokes, but that's how we informatics have fun.

I got this as a gift for my little sister. It's very basic and does what it needs to do: tell time. I like that. The lights are very bright though, blindingly so, particularly at night, and if there were anything I'd change about it, it would be to add a dimming function. My sister has to turn it around when she needs to go to sleep. Otherwise, great product, and I want another one for myself!
