We have wonderful apple trees and make this with our favorite Gravestein apples, although any flavorful apples will do. Peel, core and slice 6 cups apples putting them in a bowl of 2T vinegar to a gallon of water solution as you go to keep them from browning. Mix 1/2 cup sugar, 2T cornstarch and 2 tsp cinnamon (1/2 tsp nutmeg optional) in a bowl and toss apples in it. Take a refrigerated pie crust and line the bottom of your Pi Pie Plate. Pour fruit mixture into your Pi Pi Plate, dot the top with 2T butter and put a top crust on it. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 45-50 minutes. Cool and enjoy! Bought this for my mathematician husband who celebrates Pi Day every year by baking and bringing pies to work to share with his colleagues. He's tried it out already and the pie came out delicious. He's looking forward to using it this year for the super special Pi Day - 3/14/15 at 9:26:53.

This is a wonderful pie plate for the Math geek who also loves to cook! The plate is sturdy and has a nice depth (no pie filling spill-overs!). I love bringing pies in this plate to potlucks and watching people's reaction as the digits are revealed :)

Purchased this Pi Pie Plate for my son who loves anything Pi or Pie! I bought the dish for the novelty of the Pi numbers, but was actually quite pleased with how my family pie recipes bake in it. I'm used to baking in my Longaberger pie plates, but my crust turns out just as nicely in the 'Pi' plate; and best of all it's a great hit with my son and his math loving friends!
